PhotoFest Japan 2010

Akihabara is home to mountains of gadgets, toys, anime merchandise and, of course, more camera gear than perhaps anywhere in the world!
In late June 2010, HobbyLink Japan sponsored the inaugural PhotoFest Japan, a three-day English-language photography workshop that was held in Tokyo’s Akihabara district. Attendees last year came from as far as Malaysia for our first-time event, which was held June 30 to July 2, 2010
The event featured both classroom and hands-on instructional seminars by Rick Sammon, Juan Pons, and Hal “Bull” Schmitt, three top-notch photo pros who visited Japan from the USA, and did six hours of teaching each day, as well as more informal evening sessions. The workshop was aimed at both digital SLR beginners, and those with some experience, and covered all aspects of digital photography. Sessions covered working with flash, shooting video with your SLR, nature photography and post-processing digital darkroom techniques to name just a few!
